PM leave for UAE today to attend World Governments Summit

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is set to visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today (Monday) for a two-day trip to participate in the World Governments Summit (WGS) in Dubai.
Invited by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the visit marks an important opportunity for Pakistan to engage with global leaders. According to a statement from the Foreign Office, the summit will bring together Heads of State, government officials, global policymakers, and key private sector leaders to discuss the future of governance, innovation, and international cooperation.
This is Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s second visit to the UAE since he took office in March 2024. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, along with other important members of his cabinet. The visit highlights Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with the UAE and deepening partnerships with other international stakeholders.
During his time in Dubai, the Prime Minister will deliver a keynote address at the WGS, where he will share Pakistan’s vision for inclusive economic growth, digital transformation, and governance reforms. Additionally, he will hold bilateral meetings with UAE leaders and engage with other Heads of State and Government, as well as influential CEOs of major multinational companies.
The Foreign Office spokesperson emphasized the long-standing, strong relationship between Pakistan and the UAE, built on mutual trust and shared cooperation across various sectors. The UAE is one of Pakistan’s key economic and strategic partners, and the ties between the two countries are further strengthened by the significant role of the Pakistani diaspora in the UAE. As the second largest Pakistani expatriate community in the world, they play a vital role in the development and success of both nations, acting as a bridge between them.
The Prime Minister’s visit underscores Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to furthering its ties with the UAE, boosting economic collaboration, and exploring new avenues of partnership for the benefit of both nations.
