PM orders immediate relief on electricity bills

ISLAMABAD, July 10: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has issued directives for immediate relief on electricity bills during a recent federal cabinet meeting.
Chaired by PM Sharif, the meeting emphasized rapid implementation of solar tube wells, urging relevant ministries to expedite their efforts.
The cabinet also approved advertising medicines across TV, radio, and print media. Discussions on right-sizing and downsizing within ministries were held to streamline government operations amid challenging economic conditions.
Prime Minister Sharif reiterated the need to accelerate the austerity plan to navigate the tough economic landscape.
The cabinet reviewed a proposal to abolish certain ministries and departments. Recommendations from a committee concerning five federal ministries—Information Technology, Kashmir Affairs, Saffron, Industry and Production, and Health Services—were also presented.
