PM Shehbaz Sharif Criticizes Delay in CTD Establishment Despite 590 Billion Allocation to KP

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has voiced concerns over the delay in establishing the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), despite the province receiving 590 billion rupees under the NFC Award.
Addressing points raised by Asad Qaiser in the National Assembly, PM Shehbaz acknowledged KP's sacrifices in combating terrorism and emphasized that all provinces affected by terrorism deserve equitable support. He highlighted the formation of the NFC Award in 2010 and the allocation to KP as pivotal steps in addressing the aftermath of terrorism.
PM Shehbaz also disclosed efforts to appoint a Chief Secretary for KP, noting a lack of response from the provincial government on a proposed panel of candidates.
This statement underscores ongoing challenges in security infrastructure development despite substantial financial allocations, prompting calls for expedited action on critical initiatives in KP.
