LAHORE: In a swift intervention, the Virtual Women Police Station successfully prevented the forced marriage of a 12-year-old girl to a foreigner. The timely action was prompted by a call from concerned villagers who reported the alarming situation.
The police arrested the young girl's parents, who were attempting to marry her off for financial gain. Both the parents and the intended groom were taken into custody as legal proceedings commenced.
A spokesperson from Safe Cities emphasized the importance of the Virtual Women Police Station, urging individuals to call 15 in any emergency. This case highlights the crucial role of community vigilance and timely law enforcement in protecting vulnerable individuals.
