Police kill 2 in alleged drug busts, arrest 1

HYDERABAD, April 13: Hyderabad Police engaged in three separate encounters with suspected drug dealers and street criminals, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and the arrest of one injured suspect.
According to a police spokesperson on Saturday, the operations were conducted based on tip-offs in the American Quarter and Badin Chali areas, both under the jurisdiction of the Hali Road police station.
Police reports allege that during the encounters, suspects Iqbal Shah and Salman Pathan opened fire upon being approached by officers. They were subsequently killed in the ensuing exchange of gunfire.
Authorities claim both deceased individuals had prior cases registered against them at various police stations.
In a third incident, at the Goth Ado Jatoi area under the Pinyari police station, a suspect identified as Dilawar alias Abdul Ghani was apprehended while injured during an encounter. His alleged accomplice managed to escape on their motorcycle.
Police recovered ice, crystal meth, heroin, and weapons from the suspects. The bodies of the deceased and the injured individual have all been shifted to the Civil Hospital for further investigation.
