PPP rescinds budget session boycott decision after talks with government

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has reversed its decision to boycott the budget session following substantial progress in negotiations with the federal government.
Sources indicate that while the PPP has not yet decided on voting for the budget, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has instructed all National Assembly members to attend the budget meeting.
Under Chairman Bilawal Bhutto's directive, PPP members actively participated in the budget session, marking a shift from their earlier stance.
Negotiation committees from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and PPP met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently, reaffirming their commitment to uphold agreements made during government formation.
Further talks between the PML-N and PPP negotiation teams are scheduled today, with both parties poised to finalize a comprehensive written agreement covering all pertinent issues.
The developments underscore evolving political dynamics as key parties seek consensus on critical budgetary matters.
