PPP Seeks Review of Supreme Court Decision on Specific Seats
Islamabad: The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has formally filed an application in the Supreme Court seeking a review of the decision regarding specific seats. The petition, submitted by Farooq H. Naik on behalf of the PPP, challenges the Supreme Court's ruling from July 12, 2024.
The PPP's revision petition requests the withdrawal of the July 12 decision, arguing that the seats were allocated to Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) without due consultation. The petition calls for a reconsideration of the decision to ensure fairness and transparency.
This move follows a similar action by the Pakistan Muslim League (N), which filed a review petition on July 15, 2024, also contesting the Supreme Court's decision on the allocation of specific seats.
The PPP's legal maneuver underscores the ongoing political tension and disputes over seat allocation, highlighting the broader challenges within Pakistan's electoral and judicial processes.
