President Zardari approves Finance Amendment Bill 2024

ISLAMABAD, June 30: President Asif Ali Zardari has officially signed the Finance Amendment Bill 2024, greenlighting the federal budget for the upcoming financial year. The signed bill has been forwarded to Parliament, marking a crucial step in implementing the new fiscal policies.
The federal budget, totaling over 18 trillion rupees, introduces significant changes to various taxes and duties. With the President's approval, the new budget will be enacted starting tomorrow, imposing taxes exceeding 200 billion rupees.
Parliamentary sources reveal that the Finance Amendment Bill 2024 was submitted to President Zardari yesterday by Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq. The National Assembly had passed the bill with multiple amendments, and it was also signed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Following the President's endorsement, the finance amendment bill is set to take effect from July 1.
