Prosecution, police pocket billions of rupees in May 9 cases: Fawad Chaudhry
LAHORE, May 21: Former Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry has revealed that in the May 9 cases, the prosecution and police have pocketed billions of rupees.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, he stated, "People are being blackmailed, everything has a price. In the May 9 cases, the prosecution and police have pocketed billions, turning thousandaires into millionaires. It has been a year, but the record has not been submitted yet. Meanwhile, investigators have been making a lot of money by manipulating the records since May 9."
It has been reported that the Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore heard the cases related to the May 9 arson and encirclement incidents. The court heard the interim bails of PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s sisters, opposition leader Omar Ayub, former Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry, and others. Judge Arshad Javed of the Anti-Terrorism Court presided over the hearing on the interim bails.
It was revealed that the prosecution did not present the records of the accused to the court. The court expressed displeasure at the prosecution for not presenting the records. During the hearing, Judge Arshad Javed remarked, "The prosecution should establish a procedure for including the accused in the investigation and inform the accused of this procedure by this evening." Later, the court ordered the investigation of the accused and the submission of the report at the next hearing, extending the interim bails until June 29.
