PTI celebrates landmark victory as Supreme Court sides with their reserved seats claim
ISLAMABAD, July 12: Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Barrister Gohar, hailed the Supreme Court's historic ruling as a triumph for justice, asserting that the decision will be remembered for generations. Speaking to the media alongside PTI leaders outside the Supreme Court, Barrister Gohar declared, "We have received our due rights. The Supreme Court has affirmed what we always said: our rights were violated. Those who sought to erase PTI have received a clear message."
Gohar emphasized that the court's decision, rendered by a full bench, was based on fairness and justice. He described the day as a significant victory for the 250 million people of Pakistan and the democratic forces within the country.
Barrister Gohar noted that 11 out of 13 judges had ruled in favor of PTI, with the verdict delivered in an 8-5 ratio. He called for the Election Commission to swiftly implement the Supreme Court's decision and expedite pending elections.
Senator Shibli Faraz also celebrated the decision, calling it a memorable day in Pakistan’s democratic history. "We have received only half of our mandate; the struggle is not over yet," Faraz remarked, praising the Supreme Court for upholding justice under challenging circumstances.
Sulaiman Akram Raja, a PTI lawyer, described the day as a golden moment in Pakistan’s history. "Today we won a legal battle, but the political struggle continues. Our goal is to establish the rule of law and democracy in Pakistan," Raja stated.
Kanal Shozab, another PTI leader, expressed gratitude to the judiciary for recognizing the injustices faced by PTI and its supporters. She also thanked Sulaiman Akram Raja for his role in the legal fight.
Latif Khosa declared that the Supreme Court’s ruling marked a significant moment for the judiciary, but insisted that justice would not be fully realized until the stolen mandate was returned. He underscored that today was a victory for PTI founder Imran Khan.
Aali Muhammad Khan celebrated the decision as a major victory, urging for the full return of PTI’s mandate and the release of Imran Khan. He stressed the importance of conducting an audit of the elections and called for an end to the ongoing political repression.
Shuaib Shaheen demanded the immediate resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner, criticizing the Election Commission as a haven for corruption. He vowed to continue the fight against corruption and to ensure accountability in the country's political system.
The Supreme Court's decision marks a significant turning point, affirming PTI’s claims and setting the stage for further political and legal developments in Pakistan.
