PTI Leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Sanam Javed Challenge Nomination Paper Rejection in Lahore High Court
LAHORE,: Senior Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Sanam Javed have filed petitions in the Lahore High Court challenging the rejection of their nomination papers.
A 3-member full bench, presided over by Justice Ali Baqer Najafi, is set to hear the petition against the rejection of Shah Mahmood Qureshi's papers in three constituencies.
Sanam Javed Khan, a PTI candidate and rival of Maryam Nawaz, has contested the decision of the Appellate Tribunal, arguing that both the Appellate Tribunal and the Returning Officer made decisions contrary to the facts. The rejection was based on the joint account. The petition seeks the court's approval for Sanam Sanam's nomination papers and an order allowing her to contest the election. It asserts that Sanam Javed has been unjustly imprisoned for 8 months and is a victim of political revenge.
