PTI yet to finalize candidates of 47 constituencies for general elections

ISLAMABAD, Jan 18: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has not yet finalized the names of candidates for a total of 47 constituencies in the upcoming general elections. The PTI, with 859 candidates for the national and provincial assemblies, still awaits the announcement of hopefuls for eight constituencies in the National Assembly, five in the Punjab Assembly, and four in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Similarly, PTI has not named candidates for 10 constituencies in the Sindh Assembly out of a total of 130. In Balochistan, 20 out of 51 constituencies remain vacant from PTI's nominees. It's worth noting that PTI had earlier announced candidates for 234 seats in the National Assembly and 266 seats in the Punjab Assembly.

Prominent PTI ticket-holders include Omar Ayub Khan, Murad Saeed, Asad Qaiser, Raja Basharat, Aliya Hamza, Mian Azhar, Yasmin Rashid, Shehryar Afridi, and Sher Afzal Marwat. Additionally, journalists Ayaz Amir and Imtiaz Alam, along with Aamir Dogar, Jamshed Dasti, and Zartaj Gul Wazir, have also been included.

Barrister Gohar, PTI Chairman, will contest the National Assembly seat NA-10 in Buner, while PTI has declared candidates for two National Assembly and six provincial assembly seats in Gujranwala. Barrister Gohar stated that all decisions regarding tickets were made through consultation with the party chairman and the committee. No unilateral decisions were taken without discussing the constituencies involved.
