Punjab CM Prioritizes Digital Innovation and Investment-Friendly Environment
Lahore: Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, emphasized that fostering digital innovation and creating an investment-friendly environment are key priorities for the Punjab government.
During a meeting with PTCL Group President and CEO Hatem Bamatraf and Group Chief Regulatory Officer Naveed Khalid Butt, discussions focused on cooperation for digitization and digital communication in Punjab.
Hatem Bamatraf praised CM Maryam Nawaz’s Digital Punjab Vision and assured PTCL’s support.
The PTCL CEO briefed the Chief Minister on high-speed internet and enhanced connectivity for public projects.
The meeting also covered the expansion and improvement of telecommunication infrastructure to enhance internet access in both urban and rural areas.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz highlighted the importance of fast internet for e-commerce and freelancing services, stressing that digital technology projects should be implemented uniformly in urban and rural regions.
Maryam Nawaz further stated that promoting digital innovation and creating an investment-friendly environment are among the Punjab government's top priorities. She announced the launch of a free Wi-Fi service in Lahore, with plans to extend it to other districts soon.
