Punjab IG Vows Retaliation Against Bandit Attack After Police Casualties
Rahim Yar Khan: Punjab Inspector General (IG) Dr. Usman Anwar has vowed to retaliate against the recent attack by bandits that left several police officers injured.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar visited the Sheikh Zayed Hospital to check on the police officers who were wounded in an attack by bandits last night. He was accompanied by Punjab Home Secretary Noorul Amin Mengal, Additional IG Special Branch, Additional IG Elite Force, and Additional IG Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), as well as other senior police officials.
At the hospital, IG Anwar inquired about the health of the injured officers and prayed for their speedy recovery. He also instructed the hospital staff to ensure the best possible medical care for the wounded officers.
Speaking to the media, IG Anwar praised the bravery and sacrifices of Punjab Police, stating that the force has always stood firm against terrorists, bandits, and miscreants in the Kacha area and at border outposts. He assured that operations would continue until the complete elimination of bandits in the region.
Punjab Home Secretary Noorul Amin Mengal also visited the injured officers, individually meeting them and boosting their morale. He emphasized that the officers should receive the highest level of medical assistance and affirmed that fresh CTD and police teams would continue operations in the Kacha area to firmly establish state authority.
It is worth noting that the previous night, bandits launched a significant attack on a police convoy in the Kacha area’s Machka Camp, resulting in the deaths of 12 officers and injuries to eight others.
