Punjab to Launch Largest State-of-the-Art Electric Bus Depot
LAHORE, Sep 24: Punjab has announced plans to establish the region's first and largest state-of-the-art electric bus depot, emphasizing sustainability and green energy.
The new depot will be designed specifically for electric buses, featuring full solarization to prioritize green energy generation. It is expected to produce up to one megawatt of electricity through solar power.
Spanning 27 kanals, the green depot will provide advanced charging infrastructure for electric buses, allowing for the simultaneous charging of 64 buses. Additionally, the facility will include a washing bay and designated service areas for maintenance.
The Transport Secretary stated that in the first phase, 27 electric buses will soon be operational in Lahore, aiming to contribute to eco-friendly transport solutions and combat smog in the region.
