SC accepts petitions against 26th Constitutional Amendment for formal hearing
The Supreme Court has approved petitions challenging the 26th Constitutional Amendment for formal hearing.
An eight-member constitutional bench, led by Justice Amin-ud-Din, has issued notices to the federal government and all relevant parties.
The court has sought a detailed response from the federal government on the amendment. Additionally, notices have been issued on requests for the formation of a full court and the live broadcast of court proceedings.
The next hearing has been scheduled for three weeks, allowing time for the submission of responses from all parties.
