Section 144 Imposed in 7 Punjab Cities for Public Service Commission Exams

LAHORE: The Punjab government has imposed Section 144 in seven cities during the Public Service Commission exams on September 28 and 29, 2024. The cities affected include Lahore, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan, as per a notification issued by the provincial Home Department.

The restrictions will be in place from 8 AM to 4:30 PM on both exam days. Entry into the exam centers will be strictly limited to candidates and exam staff, with movement restricted within a 100-yard radius of the centers to prevent unauthorized access.

The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has set up 25 exam centers across these cities for various tests. The implementation of Section 144 is aimed at ensuring the smooth conduct of these exams and preventing any disruption.

It is worth noting that a similar imposition of Section 144 was enacted earlier for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) on September 22 in 12 cities across Punjab, which included strict regulations on movement, weapons, and electronic devices around the exam centers.

No protests or demonstrations will be allowed near the exam venues to maintain order during the testing process.
