Security Forces eliminate 181 terrorists in nationwide operations during April to June
ISLAMABAD, June 12: Pakistan's security forces have struck a significant blow to terrorism with a series of successful operations conducted across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Sindh.**
According to recent reports, a total of 7745 operations were carried out between April 1, 2024, and June 10, 2024, resulting in the elimination of 181 terrorists. These operations were meticulously executed, leveraging timely intelligence to counter the nefarious intentions of terrorist groups, particularly the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa alone, 2701 operations were conducted, leading to the neutralization of 128 terrorists. In Balochistan, 4902 operations were carried out, resulting in the elimination of 51 terrorists, while 142 operations in Sindh led to the demise of 2 terrorists.
The month of May witnessed intensified efforts, with 42 terrorists eliminated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 12 in Balochistan. Additionally, 61 terrorists were apprehended in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan during the same period, disrupting the activities of terrorist networks.
Security forces also thwarted multiple infiltration attempts, preventing attacks on urban areas and targeting of Chinese nationals. Notably, a TTP network aiming to harm Chinese nationals was dismantled in Bisham.
Various intelligence-based operations yielded fruitful results, including the ambush of terrorists along the Zhob border and in DI Khan and Tank. In North Waziristan, 19 terrorists were eliminated, while 11 were apprehended in Lakki Marwat.
Further operations in Balochistan, particularly in Pishin and Qila Abdullah, led to the elimination of 5 terrorists and the arrest of 1 individual attempting infiltration. Additionally, security forces successfully intercepted two suicide bombers and recovered a significant cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives, including suicide jackets and improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
The relentless efforts of security forces have not only thwarted terrorist plans but also disrupted their networks and leadership structures. In Quetta, a major TTP plan targeting Muharram events was foiled, dealing a severe blow to the terrorist outfit.
The recent string of successes has left TTP leadership in disarray, as they struggle to cope with the relentless pressure exerted by Pakistan's security forces. Cases against terrorists involved in attacks are being pursued in courts, ensuring accountability and justice for their heinous crimes.
The nation stands united behind the efforts of its security forces, reaffirming its commitment to eradicating terrorism and ensuring peace and stability across the country.
