Senate resolution won't affect election schedule: ECP

Islamabad: The Election Commission has firmly stated that the Senate resolution will have no bearing on the upcoming election schedule.
In a statement released by the Election Commission, it emphasized that only directives from the Supreme Court can influence the election timeline. The scheduled date for the general elections remains February 8.

According to the Election Commission, the Senate resolution holds no official status, and its content will not impact the predetermined election schedule. Despite the Senate's majority vote in favor of postponing the elections, the Election Commission maintains the autonomy of its established timeline.

This clarification aims to dispel any confusion regarding the potential influence of the Senate resolution on the scheduled general elections.
