Severe Loadshedding in Balochistan Cripples Daily Life and Businesses
Quetta: The citizens of Balochistan are grappling with severe and prolonged electricity loadshedding, making daily life nearly unbearable and severely impacting businesses across the province.
In Quetta and other regions, record-breaking heat coupled with both scheduled and unscheduled power outages has disrupted normal life. Loadshedding spans from 6 to 8 hours in some areas to an extensive 13 to 14 hours in others, exacerbating the sweltering conditions.
Business owners report a significant slowdown in operations due to the frequent power cuts, compounded by the burden of high electricity bills which further strain their economic situation.
Authorities attribute the widespread loadshedding to electricity theft and the inability to recover payment for consumed units, necessitating these unwelcome power cuts.
