Sindh Excise Crackdown Nets 7 Smugglers, Seizes Drugs Worth Millions
KARACHI: The Sindh Excise and Narcotics Control Department conducted five major operations in Karachi, resulting in the arrest of seven smugglers and the confiscation of significant quantities of drugs.
At the Hub River Road check post, an intelligence-led operation led to the apprehension of Chingiz Ali and Riyaz Ahmed, along with the seizure of 3 kg of ice concealed in their vehicle. Another operation at Jhanda Shah graveyard yielded 1 kg of heroin and led to the arrest of Amjad Khan, while an auto-rickshaw was impounded.
In Malir, near Bakai Hospital on Super Highway, Excise Police intercepted Ziaullah, recovering a substantial 40 kg of hashish. Meanwhile, in Shah Faisal and Rohri, Abdul Rahman, Naseer Gul, and Aftab Ahmed Brohi were arrested with significant quantities of drugs, totaling 11 kg of ice and 59 kg of hashish.
Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon praised the excise teams for their diligence, emphasizing the government's unwavering commitment to eradicate drug trafficking. He highlighted that these operations mark a significant step towards ensuring a safe and drug-free society, with ongoing investigations aimed at dismantling the entire smuggling network.
