State Bank reports $1.61 billion deposited in Roshan Digital accounts in 2023
ISLAMABAD, Jan 16: The State Bank disclosed that in December 2023 alone, $16 million found its way into Roshan digital accounts, contributing to a grand total of $1.61 billion deposited throughout the year.
Media outlets quote the State Bank's assertion that December 2023 witnessed the opening of 10,182 new Roshan digital accounts, with customers depositing $160 million into these accounts.
Providing an annual overview, the State Bank stated that 139,898 Roshan digital accounts were initiated in 2023, collectively accumulating $1.61 billion in deposits.
The report reveals that an impressive 651,057 Roshan digital accounts were established between September 2020 and December 2023. During this period, an impressive $7.19 billion made its way into these accounts. However, by December 2023, $1.53 billion had been repatriated from Roshan digital accounts.
Further insights from the State Bank highlight that $4.44 billion were utilized domestically until December 2023, while the outstanding deposits by the end of the same month amounted to $1.21 billion.
