Supreme Court Condemns Frivolous Litigation, Imposes Fine
Islamabad, Aug 02: The Supreme Court has emphasized the need to discourage baseless and unnecessary litigation during a hearing on a property dispute case.
In a key decision penned by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, the court highlighted that over 2.2 million cases are currently pending in courts across the country. The judgment stressed that frivolous and concocted lawsuits not only swell the backlog of pending cases but also delay the resolution of genuine matters.
The apex court stated that it is crucial to discourage such wasteful litigation. Subsequently, the court dismissed the petition and imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the petitioner.
