The Prime Minister will arrive in New York today in preparation for the 79th UNGA session
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will arrive in New York today to participate in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session.
He is set to address the 79th session on September 27, where he will share Pakistan’s perspectives on crucial issues like Kashmir and Palestine. During his speech, he plans to highlight the pressing matters of Islamophobia and extremism, along with discussing climate financing, climate change, and the need for institutional reforms.
In addition to his address, the Prime Minister will engage in meetings with world leaders on the sidelines of the UNGA. His visit to the U.S. also includes anticipated discussions with the UN Secretary-General, foreign ministers from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and officials from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
This visit represents an important opportunity for Pakistan to voice its concerns on the global stage and strengthen international partnerships.
