Traffic Police Punjab issues over 11 lakh driving licenses in 2023
Lahore, Jan 18: Following the directives of Additional IG Traffic, Mirza Faran Baig, an impressive number of driving licenses have been issued across the province, states the spokesperson of Traffic Police Punjab.
In 2023, more than 11 lakh 90 thousand citizens were granted driving licenses throughout the province, encompassing Lahore. The breakdown includes over 9 lakh 90 thousand citizens obtaining temporary driving licenses, while more than 80 thousand citizens secured re-regular driving licenses. Additionally, 55 thousand citizens were issued fresh driving licenses, and over 3100 citizens acquired international driving licenses. Another 1150 citizens had their licenses upgraded in the endorsement category.
The spokesperson revealed that approximately 1000 citizens obtained duplicate licenses after losing their originals. The online license facility proved beneficial for over 6 lakh citizens. Citizens availed these services through various channels, including traffic police offices, service centers, and police stations. The issued licenses encompass all types, such as learner, regular, international, and renewal licenses.
Additional IG Traffic, Mirza Faran Baig, expressed satisfaction with the success of online services, stating that thousands of citizens are benefiting daily from the convenience of renewing learner licenses, both national and international, from the comfort of their homes. He emphasized the need to continue providing such facilities to the public.
