Two dacoits killed, constable martyred during encounter in Lahore

LAHORE: Two robbers were killed in an encounter in the Baghbanpura area, while one constable was martyred and another injured.
According to the police, the suspects riding a motorcycle were intercepted, upon which they opened fire. In the exchange of fire, two robbers were killed, while one constable was martyred and another sustained injuries. The identities of the deceased robbers could not be ascertained.
The martyred constable was identified as Imran Haider, while the injured constable, Dilawar, was shifted to the hospital for medical treatment. Police officials stated that the personnel on patrol signaled to intercept suspicious individuals riding a motorcycle without a number plate near GT Road, close to PSO pump in Mominpura. Upon this, they opened fire on the police.
Upon receiving information about the incident, DIG Operations Syed Ali Naseer Rizvi and SP Cantt Ovais Shafique reached the spot and gathered details about the incident. Later, while visiting the injured constable at the hospital, they remarked that those who do not hesitate to risk their lives for duty are the crown jewels of their force.
