Guterres emphasized that the snake symbolizes wisdom, resilience and renewal. He encouraged the global community to embrace the new year with hope and determination, aiming to create a better future for everyone. In his address, Guterres wished for health, happiness, prosperity, and a fresh start in the Year of the Snake. He also expressed his gratitude to China and the Chinese people for their steadfast support of the United Nations, multilateralism and global cooperation.
