Lahore High Court Sends Imran Khan's Petition against Election Commission and Jail Trial to Full Bench

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has directed that the petition filed by former Prime Minister Imran Khan against the Election Commission and his jail trial be sent to a full bench for hearing.

Justice Alia Neelam, hearing the petition, instructed that all notification records related to Khan's jail trial be attached to the application. This comes after Khan's lawyer informed the court that there were notifications of jail trial in cases related to the Cipher disappearance and the Al-Qadir Trust.

Justice Neelam inquired whether notification of jail trial had been done in any other cases, and if so, how many. The court then remarked that if an order is made in one case, what would be the effect on the others.

Khan's petition will now be heard by a full bench of the Lahore High Court, where a final decision will be made on whether or not the Election Commission's decision and his jail trial stand.
