Islamabad ATC Grants Bail to Ex-Chairman PTI and Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Vandalism Cases

ISLAMABAD: In a major development, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad has granted bail to former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and Shah Mahmood Qureshi in three and two vandalism cases, respectively.
The bail pleas were heard by ATC judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain, with prosecutor Raja Naveed and PTI lawyers Sardar Ghazal and Khalid Yusuf appearing on behalf of their respective parties.
Judge Zulqarnain accepted the bail applications against surety bonds of Rs. 30,000 each for both the accused.
During the hearing, prosecutor Naveed argued that the PTI leaders had staged deliberate protests, misled the public, and attempted to create unrest. He pleaded with the court to deny their bail requests.
However, the judge pointed out that neither ex-chairman PTI nor Qureshi were present at the time of the alleged incidents. Additionally, he noted that bail applications of other co-accused had already been approved.
This decision comes as a significant relief for the PTI leadership, who have been facing legal challenges in recent months. The bail grants may also impact the ongoing political landscape in Pakistan.
