Rawalpindi: In a series of intense operations conducted by security forces in Dera Ismail Khan district, a total of 27 terrorists were killed, while 23 brave soldiers were martyred.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations, which began on the night of December 11th and continued through December 12th, were launched in response to intelligence reports of large-scale suspicious activities in the area.

In one operation, conducted in the General Area Darzanda, 17 terrorists were killed and their hideout destroyed. Similarly, another operation in the General Area Kalachi resulted in the deaths of four terrorists and the destruction of their hideout. However, two Pakistani soldiers were martyred during the exchange of fire.

The most significant incident occurred on December 12th, when a group of six terrorists attempted to attack a security forces post in the General Area Daraban. While their initial attempt was thwarted, the terrorists then carried out a suicide attack, detonating a vehicle full of explosives. This resulted in the collapse of the building and the deaths of several personnel.

ISPR confirmed that all six terrorists were killed by forces.

According to ISPR, the slain terrorists were involved in numerous acts of terrorism against security forces and civilians. Arms, ammunition, and explosives were recovered during the operations.

ISPR further stated that sanitization operations are ongoing to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the area. They stressed that Pakistani security forces are determined to eradicate terrorism from the country and that the sacrifices of their brave soldiers only strengthen their resolve.
