Nominations papers Begin for Reserved Seats

Islamabad, Pakistani women and minorities seeking to compete for reserved seats in the upcoming provincial and National Assembly elections can now obtain nomination papers, easing the process and encouraging participation.

In a press release issued on December 18, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced that interested candidates can acquire nomination papers directly from their respective returning officers or district election commissions. This streamlined procedure aims to facilitate access and remove hurdles for potential candidates, particularly those from underserved communities.

However, while the access to forms has been simplified, the official filing timeframe remains strict. Candidates must submit their duly completed nomination papers to their designated returning officers between December 20 and 22. Following submission, the usual scrutiny process will be conducted according to established rules and regulations.
