PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Announces New Focal Persons for Jail Meetings
Isalamabad, April 4 : Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Barrister Gohar Khan has revealed the newly appointed focal persons approved by PTI founder Imran Khan.
In a tweet, Barrister Gohar announced the inclusion of himself and Shibli Faraz as the latest additions to the team of focal persons. Additionally, Umar Ayub, Intar Hussain Panjotha, and Senator Ali Zafar have been appointed as new focal persons in the team.
This development follows Imran Khan's earlier appointment of three focal persons for meetings held within Adiala Jail on March 30. The appointed focal persons included Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar, Sher Afzal Marwat, and Barrister Umair Niazi.
As per the designated standard operating procedures (SOPs), each focal person is entitled to nominate two individuals for meetings held within the jail premises. Meetings are scheduled to take place twice a week, with family members permitted to meet on Tuesdays and lawyers and other associates on Thursdays.
Imran Khan, along with the Superintendent of Adiala Jail, reached an agreement on the SOPs for jail meetings, with both parties signing the finalized protocols. The SOPs outline that individuals meeting Imran Khan based on court orders will require his consent. According to jail reports, Imran Khan met with 10 individuals on March 26 and 18 individuals on March 28.
