Youm-e-Ali (A.S) Observed Nationwide Amid Enhanced Security Measures

The martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Ali ibne Abi Talib (A.S) is being observed with deep reverence and solemnity across Pakistan today. The day is marked by large-scale mourning processions in major cities, while stringent security protocols have been put in place to ensure the safety of participants.

Central Processions and Security Arrangement

In Karachi, the main procession will commence at 1 PM from Nishtar Park and will make its way to the Hussainia Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar. Similar processions are taking place in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Quetta, and other cities, with each locality observing its own traditions of mourning.

Authorities have imposed a series of security measures, including road closures, a suspension of mobile phone services in certain areas, and a ban on pillion riding under Section 144. These steps are being taken to prevent any untoward incidents during the solemn observances.

Strict Security Protocols in Major Cities

In Karachi, security forces have set up barricades and blocked roads leading to the main procession route with containers to prevent any disruptions. The local administration has also banned motorcycle pillion riding for the day, and a heavy police presence has been deployed along the procession’s path to ensure a smooth and safe event.

In Quetta, mobile phone services have been temporarily suspended as part of the security arrangements, in an effort to minimize any potential threats. Similar security protocols are being followed in other cities across the country, with provincial Home Departments directing law enforcement agencies to implement strict security measures.

Mourning Processions Across Pakistan

In Lahore, the central procession will begin from Mubarak Haveli, located in the historic Mochi Gate area, and will conclude at Karbala Gamay Shah at Iftar. To secure the procession, over 7,000 security personnel have been deployed along the route.

Other cities, including Rawalpindi, Peshawar, and Quetta, are witnessing similar observances. Processions have been organized across various localities, and law enforcement agencies are vigilantly monitoring the situation.
