Zartaj Gul challenges Maryam Nawaz to wear sweeper's uniform in Dera Ghazi Khan

DERA GHAZI KHAN, May 18: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of the National Assembly, Zartaj Gul Khan, has issued a bold challenge to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, urging her to visit Dera Ghazi Khan and don the attire of a sweeper.

Zartaj Gul Khan minced no words in criticizing Maryam Nawaz, highlighting the need for her to witness the conditions in Dera Ghazi Khan firsthand. Emphasizing the gravity of the situation, Khan extended an open invitation to the Chief Minister, urging her to address the challenges faced by the city, formerly known as a bastion of underdevelopment.

The challenge comes in response to Maryam Nawaz's recent participation in a passing out parade ceremony where she wore the uniform of the elite police force. Speaking at the ceremony, Nawaz expressed her delight in joining the ranks of the elite force, commending the dedication and hard work of the trainees.

Acknowledging the rigorous six-month training program, Nawaz praised the 800 graduates, including 70 women, for their commitment. She highlighted the significance of the elite force as a symbol of national pride, attributing its establishment to the vision of Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif.

In a gesture of solidarity, Nawaz announced special cash prizes for the passing out women and extended congratulations to their parents for entrusting their daughters to serve the nation. She emphasized the importance of women's contributions in upholding national security and expressed confidence in their abilities to make the nation proud.

However, Zartaj Gul Khan's challenge underscores broader concerns about regional development and the need for government officials to address grassroots issues directly. As political tensions simmer, the call for action in Dera Ghazi Khan serves as a poignant reminder of the challenges faced by marginalized communities across Pakistan.
